Structural Engineering

Engineering can be broadly categorized to include the specification of heating and cooling equipment (mechanical engineering) but the first step after choosing a design is to ensure that our structure will meet local building code requirements.

Wind and snow loads differ in all parts of the country and some areas have seismic requirements or unusual coastal conditions that far exceed the requirements of a typical inland location.

Our engineering consultants have experience in all areas of the country and will provide structural engineering calculations and stamped structural certification for local permit authorities.

In locations like Florida, the Southeast Coast and parts of the upper East Coast, some jurisdictions have adopted IBC Coastal codes that require high-wind load capacity and in some cases impact-resistant glazing. Portions of our Aluminum system have impact ratings with additional testing ongoing. Call for current updates.

One of our first priorities is to assess your local requirements to see how the engineering will affect the design. next page
